Guardians of the Galaxy

Vol. 2

Was totally into the feel of this movie. The music, plot and character development was really good. I wasn't really into Kurt Russell as Ego but i think the script and CGI of the character held me back.

As good if not a little better than the original for me.  I love the character development, particularly for Quill, Gamora, Nebula, Rocket and Yondu.  Amazing what you can do when you don't have to cram in an origin story.

I love a sarcastic and ego driven Batman. The Lego movies are doing a great job with comedy on every age. I've rewatched twice since the theater release and I still laugh at things I didn't notice before.

This was a fun movie, but The Lego Movie it ain't.  I enjoyed all the nods to Batman material of the past, but this movie was a little too superficial for me to go much about a 6.5 rating.

The Lego Batman movie

Suicide Squad

I had a higher rating after coming out of the theater but since I've had time to reflect this was alright. I liked the casting and characters that they presented but the plot was weird and broken.

Three kids standing on top of each other, impersonating John McEnroe.

The studio got in the way of this one.  Felt like a bit of a mess. Harley Quinn was a highlight.  Enjoyed this take on the Joker, but we didn't get enough.  The Batman action in this movie was better for me than what I saw from BvS.  I would have like more of Katana as well.

Rogue One

Getting the underbelly of this world was nice and refreshing. I think that this one brought us the knowledge that it takes all kinds to lead a rebellion. Although, I felt like there were a lot of edits as the previews did not match the film. Great start to the side story lines though.

A gorilla wearing a cowboy hat, playing the bongos.

Our first look at a Star Wars anthology movie, and I am encouraged.  What a fun trip through the peripheral Star Wars galaxy, and the connective tissue to the episodic movies was abundant.  Lots of Easter eggs and nods to the fans.  Maybe a couple too many.

First off, I'm a supes guy! So knowing that you will understand my higher approval of this movie. I think the audience was tricked with what they saw on the trailers vs what they were presented in the theater. I enjoyed Batfleck and as always Superman portraial was tops. The true villain was the plot.

Landon - 4 out of 10

Two kids standing on top of each other, impersonating Janeane Garofalo.

ZZZzzzZZZzzz Oh! What?!?! Another slow motion scene in this movie that plods along like a 2 ton geriatric sloth? Thank goodness for Wonder Woman.  Is there a chance she could single-handedly save the DCU?  We'll just have to wait and see.
